The United States of America.” 2010, states that news is made up of opinions as well as facts and that those opinions, in the form of quotes, help to make a story come alive. And most importantly, you will have the opportunity to write a news story, you’re first of several stories throughout the course.

Interpretation

For me, the most useful experience was knowing about news values and elements. I have developed my understanding of the value and elements of news. Having discussed the value and elements of news I now realize what makes news different from other forms of writing. This knowledge is essential to me in the workplace because I have to know the things to pay attention to when later I am required to write news. Because I have not yet been confident with writing news I will now need to get into the habit of writing news stories of any kind. Previously, I did not notice the things in the news such as value and news elements. Alternatively, this might be related to the knowledge that I didn’t have before. This is similar to when I felt really lazy to learn more because I felt like I didn’t need to learn about that. Like news things, this reveals that there are things that can be newsworthy.
